The BANKAMP company was founded in Neheim-Hüsten in 1947. Today, the town belongs to Arnsberg and the luminaire manufacturer is still at home there. The founder Karl Bankamp could certainly not have imagined that the lamps are now sold in over 20 countries around the world.
Handcrafted "made in Germany”
BANKAMP luminaires are still manufactured almost entirely on site. Belting, grinding, lacquering and assembly are all under one roof. The design also comes from the company itself. This high level of vertical integration guarantees the exclusive quality of the luminaires from the manufacturer.
High-quality materials such as precious metals, cut or mouth-blown glass are used for the production of the luminaires. All BANKAMP luminaires are checked several times for safety and functionality before leaving the building.
It's not just the look that's right, the inner workings of the lamps are also impressive. For example, the company uses innovative dimming technologies, and some of the BANKAMP luminaires can also be controlled with a smartphone. With "warm dimming", the colour temperature can be adjusted - i.e. warmer or colder light can be selected. With "vertical dimming", the luminaire can be dimmed by tilting the head - down to one watt, which is equivalent to the light of a candle.
