About ClassiCon
ClassiCon was founded in 1990 by Stephan Fischer von Poturzyn. From the very beginning, the company has specialised in classics from the furniture and lighting sector - or in those that could still become classics. Fischer von Poturzyn was a board member of the traditional Vereinigte Werkstätten in Munich and brought valuable licences of classic designs with him to the new company.
Above all, the creations of the design icon Eileen Gray are worth mentioning here. Her Adjustable side table or the Day Bed are real treasures in the world of furniture. Designed almost 100 years ago, they are still relevant. Timeless, as befits a classic. Her other designs include the Pailla luminaire, the Castellar mirror and the Roquebrune chair.
In addition to well-known designers, the company always gives unknown faces a chance to prove themselves. One of them was Konstantin Grcic, who earned his stripes at ClassiCon. Today he is one of the hottest designers of our time. His designs can be found in important museums and designer collections all over the world. At ClassiCon, for example, the Diana table, the Orcus secretary and the Ulisse lounger are by Grcic.
Oliver S. Holy has been the managing director of ClassiCon since 2003. He is the great-grandson of Hugo Boss and could also have taken over the fashion empire. But he had no interest in fashion, he preferred to sell furniture.
Only authentic with a signature
From the very beginning, ClassiCon has focused on quality, individuality and timeless aesthetics in its furniture and lighting. In production, the focus is on high quality. All furniture from the classic collection is endowed with an indelible, individual signature. This guarantees not only the high quality of the product, but also that it has been manufactured true to the original, in agreement with the rights holders.
