The German company Duravit can look back on over 200 years of history - it was founded in 1817 by Georg Friedrich Horn in Hornberg. This is a small town in the Black Forest. Initially, the manufacturer exclusively produced tableware made of earthenware, but it was not until later that bathroom products were added.
At first, Duravit exclusively manufactured sanitary ware products - washbasins, toilets and urinals. It was only in the course of history that the company became a full-range bathroom supplier. Fittings and accessories, bathroom furniture and baths soon followed.
Throughout the years Duravit has repeatedly worked together with renowned designers, including Philippe Starck, Sieger Design, Sir Norman Foster and Matteo Thun. The products are therefore not only high quality, but also perfectly styled.
Sustainable Global Corporation
Duravit is no longer a small manufacturer from the Black Forest, but a globally operating corporation. There are also branches in Egypt and China as well as other countries. There are also several production plants in Germany - in addition to Hornberg, in Meissen, Schenkenzell and Achern.
As a manufacturer that earns its living with water, Duravit also takes care of the sustainability of its products. This includes, for example, the environmental compatibility of materials and ingredients, but also product safety. The aim is also to ensure that all the products used can be recycled.
Founded in 1817 in the Black Forest, the company is today a leading supplier of baths, shower trays, sanitary ceramics, accessories and bathroom furniture. Duravit products are manufactured at nine locations worldwide, including China and Egypt. The company has over 5000 employees.
